'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' to include single-player class customization

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will expand multiplayer's Create-A-Class system to its single player mode, allowing users to customize their character with weapons, optics, and camouflage, Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia revealed in a GTTV interview.

This will be significant for the challenge system that takes place within every level in the campaign, according to Lamia. Some challenges users may not be able to overcome without specific weapons or equipment, while successfully overcoming a challenge will unlock different parts of the customization system.

In addition, gameplay footage from the single player campaign's first futuristic level, Monsoon, was shown. Monsoon drops the player into a facility with fellow elite counter-terrorist squad members Harper and Salazar, after receiving intelligence that enemy Raul Menendez is located there. Footage shows off both the indoor corridors of a modern facility and an outdoor jungle in the midst of monsoon season, while each level can be explored in numerous ways with a number of different paths available to the players.

Footage of future technology such as wingsuits and invisible camouflage is also shown.

Finally, footage of Theater Mode, available in the game's Zombies multiplayer mode, demonstrates how the user can move the game's camera freely, then record their gameplay and upload the result for other people to view.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is scheduled to release November 13th on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, with a release on the Wii U on November 18th.
