Scott Forstall, is the man, who is responsible for what iOS is actually today. He designed iOS from the ground up under Late Steve Jobs. And he is the one who's going out of the company today. According to some of the sources, Scott refused to sign on the Apology letter that was related to iOS 6 Maps. This letter was later signed by CEO Tim Cook and was hosted on Apple's own Website.
The Apology letter read that, Apple fell short at commitment of creating high standard products with iOS 6 Maps, and will strive hard for making it incredible as other products. The exact circumstances of Forstall's refusal are unclear, but not entirely unexpected: it's widely understood that the hard-charging, ambitious Forstall is abrasive and disliked by a number of others at his level inside Apple — people like head designer Jony Ive, who allegedly refused to take meetings in the same room as him.
Since Scott is out now, Jony Ive will have an opportunity to fresh out the staleness of iOS. Eddy Cue will take on Siri and Maps while OS X's Craig Federighi gets iOS. Also, Scott Forstall has cashed out $38 Million in Apple Stock earlier this year.
