If Facebook will not launch Facebook Phone, the social network lets hear against by a search engine. At least Mark Zuckerberg said at the conference TechCrunch Disrupt that Facebook has a team working on the search.
CEO and co-founder of Facebook has against unclear whether this work is done with the help of a team Bing. The search engine Microsoft has recently inaugurated a particular feature (in beta) search of images on the social network.
The time was not yet the major explanations for Mark Zuckerberg. He merely pointed out that Facebook already covered a billion queries a day and there is at this level a "big opportunity."
"The legacy of the search with engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo! was to enter keywords to get a set of results based on those keywords. Search engines are evolving to provide answers," and Mark Zuckerberg of add that Facebook has a "unique position to respond to specific questions."
A priori, Facebook will therefore rely on social connections between users to develop its best search engine. Nothing really surprising that Google is trying with its Google+ social layer to add such a provision.
Earlier this year, Bloomberg Businessweek reported that a project around technology research employs 25 engineers Facebook headed by Lars Rasmussen. The latter joined Facebook in 2010. He is known for being a former Googler and the origin of Google Maps.
