The global crisis will not touch technology products. According to a study from research firm IDC, worldwide sales of tablets, computers and multimedia phones will almost double by 2016 to reach more than two billion units. This year, IDC estimates that total sales are expected to reach 1.2 billion units, an increase of 27.4% compared to 2011.
"Smartphones represent the largest share of these volumes, but tablets expected to grow the fastest," with average growth of 22% per year between 2012 and 2016, IDC said in a statement. Multimedia phones should represent 63% of sales in 2016 against 59% currently, an average annual growth of 15.8%.
The proportion of parallel bars should increase from 10% today to 13% in 2016, while computers will be reduced from 31% to 24%.
