Google announces the addition of a new feature to its Web-oriented research office tools online Google Docs. It relates more particularly the application of word processing.
To perform Web searches, users can now operate without leaving the confines of Google Docs. To this end, a right side panel can be invoked via the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + R (Windows) or Cmd + Alt + R (OS X).
A further appeal of the functionality is the context menu after selecting a word document that becomes a keyword, or simply from the Tools menu and Search.
The search panel provides access to the usual results of engine Google, as well as images and quotes. The panel can include a link to insert in the document being drafted. It may also include Google Maps.
