Tweeting new articles on Twitter can be a cumbersome process sometimes. It might take from a few to many clicks depending on the amount of customization you want to add to your tweets. But for bloggers who tweet in just the same way everytime IFTTT's new offering can save a lot of time for you. It just takes 5 minutes to create a new "Recipe" (Recipe is what IFTTT calls their service). Every recipe contains "If This Than That" Statement. You can choose This and That as any service which IFTTT supports right now.
Here's how to setup new recipe in minutes.
Step 1: Make a new account on IFTTT [Link]. Step 2: When you'll login into IFTTT, click on "Create a new recipe". You'll then see a big IF THIS THAN THAT statement written on the website. This will be colored differently than any other word. Click on "This".
Step 3: It will then say, choose a new *trigger channel.
*Trigger channel is basically where change is being made by you. For Example say you are blogging on Wordpress. You post a new article on your blog. So the change was done by you. "If you made a change on Wordpress (This) then we'll tweet it for you on Twitter (That) "
Step 4: Lets suppose you chose Wordpress on the last step. Now it will ask you to put your Wordpress's credentials to activate this service. Do it. Then continue to the next step
Step 5: So you'll now be asked to choose Trigger. You can choose "Any New Post".
Step 6: That has to be clicked now, and you'll see the same list of apps you saw in step 3. Choose "Twitter", as you want to tweet everytime you post a new article on Wordpress.
Step 7: Put in your Twitters credentials and you're done with making the new recipe, unless you want to add a description to it. Add a description if you want, but it is not mandatory to write it.
If you want to check if this is working or not, click on the arrow button just placed on the right side of your recipe. On the next page click "Check Now" and Tweets will be tweeted about your new post.
This works pretty well for all the service. It supports both Self hosted and Wordpress.com installations. You can also set it up to work with blogger. You can save Read items from pocket to Google calender to make a diary entry sort of or you can send email when new blog post arrives. You can try any combination of total of 54 apps. You can create unlimited recipe and each recipe triggers itself automatically in 15 minutes.
