How To Use Tablet As Your Second Monitor

Driving an external monitor with a laptop is quite common now a days. Since it adds a gorgeous display to your work space, it also increases your efficiency at the same time. Whether you're trying to keep up with twitter feed or some website, it acts as a secondary computer which can be tweaked as per your requirement. Since external monitors are not mobile like Tablets are, Tablets can be a better option as a secondary screen for on-the-go users. 

It isn't as easy as hooking up an external monitor but it doesn't requires hacking to make it working either. Here are some Apps which will let you do it in minutes.  

Air Display: Air display is quick and easy to use. You can use your tablet in either orientation -- Landscape or portrait -- as you like. Apps are available for both Android and iOS Price: $9.99 

Celio Corp Redfly's ScreenSlider: It can be used with Android and Windows. iOS app is under development. It cost a $1.99 as a regular download but it is currently in sale for just $0.99.

Splashtop XDisplay:  Though one of my favorite's, it can play graphic intensive games, stream content and can give remote access to your Desktop. Setting up iPad as secondary monitor is just as easy as other services. Free for 10 Minutes in each session and $4.99 in-app one time purchase.  

iDisplay: Nothing special, it can work both for PC and Mac and is priced at $4.99. 

You will be presented with instructions on their respective site but here are some general ones.

Firstly, download app on your Tablet and on your PC. Check if your Tablet and PC are connected on the same Wifi network. Then Open app on your Tablet and select name of your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions and your Tablet will be connected with your PC. 

You can also invest in some sturdy stand for your Tablet to make it feel more like an External Monitor.
