Windows 8 app Tweetro now bites the dust following the new Twitter API rules

Twitter's new API rules is atleast not impressing third-party twitter app developers. After "If This Then That" which had to amend some of its features the recent rules has now hit hard Tweetro, a Twitter client for Windows 8 that wanted to offer users the best Twitter experience that follows along with the Windows 8 design guidelines.

Twitter announced its API changes back in August this year, which included one of the most controversial change to cap applications that “replicate the core Twitter experience” to 100,000 user Twitter accounts that can access the app, called "Tokens". Those apps which had previously made a huge user base were allowed to double the size of their tokens.

However, Tweetro had to face the darker side of the coin as it fell prey to its own popularity. It grew leaps and bounds and it rocketed to the figure of 100,000 users days after Windows 8 release.Tweetro has thus become the first app to reach 100,000 tokens under the new API limit but one needs to note that it surely won't be the last. One is ought to see several other app to face the same extinction problem if Twitter doesn't works out a way.
