The BlackBerry Developer Conference World Orlando (Florida), which opened in early May, provides an opportunity to the manufacturer Research in Motion to establish the foundations preparing commercialization of its next BlackBerry platform 10, expected the second half of 2012 with a new generation of BlackBerry smartphones.
Meanwhile the public reaction, it is the developers that the manufacturer has to convince. The event this month of May is therefore of particular importance since it allows to provide the first development tools.
Thorsten Heins, CEO of RIM, is discreet about the period of the launch of BlackBerry 10 and the first devices to be offered but, as promised, he unveiled the BlackBerry Dev Alpha 10, a special smartphone available to developers at the conference and that will allow them to have a very practical overview of the platform in order to develop their applications.
RIM also announced the delivery of the first 10 SDK for BlackBerry, available in beta and free download, allowing the creation of native applications and HTML5. This set of tools that integrates authoring tool interface BlackBerry Cascades, will facilitate the development of applications prior to the launch and will be used to provide a first application catalog at launch.
Mobile applications can run both on future BlackBerry smartphones as BlackBerry playbook on the shelf, its QNX OS constituting the foundations of a BlackBerry 10. The smartphone Dev Alpha, sketch models to come, has a display 4.2 "1280 x 768 pixels, with 16 GB of storage space, 1GB of RAM and a microphone port HDMI.
To encourage developers to turn to its platform, RIM will offer support for the first $ 10,000 dollars generated by applications. This will pass the course for certification and generate at least $ 1,000 of income. In addition, RIM may offer compensation up to the ceiling, guaranteeing an income real developers involved.
