Asus, Lenovo, Samsung and Toshiba release their Windows RT tablets this year

Horsmis the tablet Microsoft Surface, four other manufacturers should leave the tablets Windows RT this year, Asus, Lenovo, Samsung and Toshiba. This is what the Chinese Economic Times reports (via UnwiredView) that the Redmond company has voluntarily limited the number of brands licensed to produce the first set of tablets.

Thus, the three largest suppliers of ARM chips (Nvidia, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments) have they been allowed to work with only two each OEM. Nvidia has partnered with Asus and Lenovo, Toshiba Texas Instruments has taken while Qualcomm has chosen Samsung and HP. Who announced that he does not ultimately commercialize Windows Tablet RT for now, it could be that Dell take its place UnwiredView guess.

Apparently, Microsoft had planned to remove the restriction on Windows licensing RT from January 2013, which should cause a second wave of tablets in the first quarter with probably a lot of presentations during the Consumer Electronic Show.

  1. Bought my MS Surface RT it arrived on Friday and average battery running 2 apps in snap view one Hulu and the other Word/Explorer/email, lasts 9 to 10 hours but Hulu is optimized but this is real use not a review. I own an iPad and this is a major paradigm shift as the iMac was to the Beige boxes look. thanks!
