The pitfalls and hiccups continue to disrupt the activity of the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, already under heavy pressure on its rival Samsung Android smartphones are its main resource.

After a year-end 2011 and a difficult first half of 2012 should remain subdued, it must also be legal problems with which the object to Apple. The group of Cupertino led his rival in a patent war that prevents him from fully deploy its strategy, including its conquest of the U.S. market.

These various factors have led to HTC announce the postponement of the launch of two of its smartphones in the U.S., HTC models One X (quadcore, unveiled at MWC 2012 in Barcelona in late February) and HTC EVO 4G LTE because of the procedures a complaint with the ITC (International Trade Commission).

The Taiwanese manufacturer has taken steps to modify its terminals, thus avoiding the risk of a marketing ban, but the ITC must inspect its inventory to make sure everything is in order, forcing them to shift or launch their replenishment (in the case of HTC X One, launched in early May).

Beyond the quarrel HTC / Apple, these delays are also cases of Samsung Android smartphones that aligns with clockwork regularity and in all segments.

The duration of the postponement is unknown and investors worried about the effects that it could have on financial results for the second quarter or third quarter.

This tension has led to a further fall in share price of HTC 6% immediately after the announcement of the deferment of the sale of smartphones.

The U.S. market is not as attractive for HTC that there are some quarters, when the manufacturer had more than 50% market share in smartphones, but it remains a highly strategic geographical area.
