Google : Knowledge Graph

Knowledge Graph is a major development for the Google search engine, maybe even more than the integration of a social stratum with Google +. A new step towards the Semantic Web as has already been able to Wolfram | Alpha that Microsoft uses Bing results.

Rather than the simple combination of keywords and as a result of links to pages containing those keywords, Knowledge Graph helps Google better understand the context and propose responses.

To this end, a database of 500 million objects is exploited, and over 3.5 billion connections (facts and relationships) between these objects can be people, geographical locations, movies. .. Point is that this database takes advantage of public sources such as Freebase (project developed by Metaweb bought by Google, see our news), Wikipedia and the CIA World Factbook.

Google says that with such a request "Taj Mahal", the engine includes the difference between the monument in India and American blues musician who has the same name. Users can click links to the right and do it quickly and understand what they want to Google ... making it the smartest way.
